My new novel, 'Seagulls on the Ganges' was launched in 2018 and it's finding its way into the hearts of women all around the world, producing the warmest responses.

You may be familiar with my healthy-eating cookbooks, the 'Taste of Life' series which sold over 2.2 million copies world-wide and changed the eating habits of a generation. Perhaps you have a copy!

With all that success, perhaps you're wondering why I changed genres from cookbooks to fiction?

The answer is simply this:-

My life changed so dramatically in 2006 when I lost the love of my life to Mesothelioma - asbestos cancer, after a 30 year love story. I wanted to honor that love story with the lessons I'd learned moving forward from loss in the hope that I might inspire other women to be brave to explore their deeper story, no matter the highs or lows they met along the way of their journey.

You might remember I wrote the 'Taste of Life' healthy-eating cookbooks in the 80's and 90's to help my husband, Bruce, beat life-threatening Hodgkins Lymphoma. Bruce survived this cancer before enduring a second, totally unrelated cancer.

Our story was originally my memoir, 'The Seagull' but after much deliberation it became a fiction to coincide with the screenplay of the same name. So although the names of characters in my story are fictionalized, I'm certain you'll soon link them to their real life characters.

(Ellie/Julie), (Michael/Bruce), (Laura/Cais) and (Scott/Timothy).

Writing our story, I was constantly reminded that if you want something badly enough the Universe will conspire to make it happen for you. You see, all I ever wanted when I left school was to become a writer/journalist/artist, but my mother and father couldn't afford for me to study journalism, or art, and so I accepted a teaching scholarship and became an art teacher. Now, looking back, I realize teaching was all part and parcel of me finding the disciplines I'd need to find the writer in me.

At Teacher's College, I majored in psychology, discovering Carl Jung's synchronicity principle. Though I didn't realize it at the time, his principle of the collision of two or more meaningful interactions happening for a reason to advance humans in their journey of evolution would later become the foundation of my understanding not to ignore meaningful coincidences in my life, but rather to accept what the whispering of my heart voice was telling me when I found myself in such a situation.

Writing best-seller cookbooks was incredibly exciting but it became very much formula writing for me. For 20 years, I craved to advance the descriptions of my recipe choices but my publisher's strict guidelines of word count per page didn't allow for such elaborations.

I could never have imagined the book I'd eventually write and that I'd choose the journey of self-publishing. It hasn't been an easy road but it has been a milestone in what I've learned about myself and what I believe I was always destined to do.

Choosing to publish with a self-publishing operation in India, has given me full flexibility to take my book to its audience no matter where they are in the world. This way of delivering my story to its readers feels more organic. Plus, I immediately get to communicate with all my readers and they get to communicate their stories directly back to me too. It's a very personal experience, and I love it! I know the book will find its way, at the pace it was always meant to find its way.

I've just returned from India where 'Seagulls on the Ganges' was showcased at the international BOOK FAIR in New Delhi (one of the biggest book fairs in the world). I also ventured on to Varanasi where 'Seagulls on the Ganges' begins its journey, and where you meet the character Rahul for the first time.

And now, I'm looking to spread the message of 'Seagulls on the Ganges' even further throughout the world, through the power of the 'Seagulls on the Ganges' AMBASSADOR PROJECT.

'Seagulls on the Ganges' Ambassadors will help me find the story's true audience. First you'll read my story, and, if I've done my job well you'll find your next life lesson, because you're ready for it. Perhaps you'll simply be inspired to do something you've always wanted to do because you will be more conscious of your heart voice whispering the idea of it to you. Perhaps you'll more easily identify those meaningful coincidences in your life and rather than hesitate, you'll dare to follow... because deep inside, you inherently know this is your destined path and it's calling you.
